Buddy Baseball

Buddy Baseball is a non-competitive recreational league for boys and girls with disabilities. Each player is paired with a "buddy" to assist the player as needed. The league allows for friendships to form and barriers to be dissolved. Buddy Baseball is an opportunity like no other for children with disabilities. Not only do the players experience the thrill of participating, they also get to experience team play and camaraderie. Advancing the personal development of any child through team participation and kinship is an important step along the road to success and happiness. Registration starts January 1 and ends March 1 at any recreation center. Games played at Massey Hill Recreation Center. Season starts in April.

Little League Baseball bans composite bats. According to the league: "Wooden and aluminum metal/alloy bats are not subject to the moratorium. Bats that have only a metal or alloy barrel (and no other material, unless it is in the end cap of the bat), and if it meets the other standards (length, diameter, etc. for the respective division in which it is used) are not subject to the moratorium, regardless of the composition of the handle or the transition to the barrel." Softball bats are not affected. Click this link for details. http://www.littleleague.org/media/newsarchive/2010/Sep-Dec/CompositeBatMoratium.htm
