Mazarick Park
Located at Glenville Lake Fishing Pier. Rowboats available to rent.

Lake Rim
Located on Old Raeford Road across from Lake Rim Park.

Arnette Park
Located along the banks of the Cape Fear River

State Fish & Game licensing requirements apply at all locations.

CANOE/KAYAKING

Lake Rim Park offers a variety of kayaking opportunities. All equipment is provided and no experience is neccessary. Check the latest edition of the parks and recreation activities brochure for details or call 910-433-1018.

General Information
Mazarick Park is a multi- purpose park featuring fishing, boat rentals, a Frisbee Golf course, picnic shelters, and trails.  A tennis court and baseball field are available for a quick game.  Picnic areas are open to the public on a first come, first serve basis unless they are reserved.  For more information on shelter rentals, call 433-1547.

Fishing
Try your hand at fishing from our 80 foot pier for some of the many species of fish which inhabit Glenville Lake. All North Carolina fishing license requirements are enforced.
All ages. Pier is open daily 7 am-dusk; Free

Fishing Tackle Loaner Program
Borrow a rod and reel for 24 hours and go fishing. Participants 16 and under will receive a free starter tackle box upon the first occasion of returning the loaned rod and reel. A driver’s license is required to register.
All ages; Mon-Fri.; 7 am-4 pm; Free

Boat Rentals
Rent a jon boat for an hour, a half day, or a full day of boating or fishing on Glenville Lake. Renters must be 18 years of age with a valid picture identification card or driver’s license. Availability is subject to season and weather conditions.
18+; $2/hour; $5/half-day; $10/full-day

Environmental Education Programs
Join a park ranger to learn about a variety of nature subjects from fishing to snakes and nature crafts. Meet at the Mazarick Park office building.
Fishing Basics A park ranger will discuss fish identification and basic fishing skills before you try your luck on Glenville Lake. Fishing rods and worms will be provided. Catch and release only. No fishing license is required for participants under 16 years of age. Adult participants must have a valid
N.C. Fishing license. Please call to pre-register. Class size is limited to 16 participants.

Orienteering Basic Course
A park ranger will provide hands on instruction in compass use and map reading. Participants will use these skills to navigate several orienteering courses within the park. Please call to pre-register. Class size is limited to 16 participants.

Snakes Alive
North Carolina has 36 species of these amazing animals. Join a park ranger who will teach you all about these often feared and misunderstood reptiles. Please call to pre-register. Class size is limited to 30 participants.

Nature Crafts
Create craft objects using natural materials. Craft instructors will help you create your nature craft design. Please call to pre-register. Class size is limited to 20 participants.

Animal Tracking
Learn to identify different animal tracks and signs found in Mazarick Park. Search for clues with a park ranger on a guided hike. Please call to pre-register. Class size is limited to 20 participants.

Nature Christmas Arts and Crafts
Create Christmas crafts and decorative ornaments using natural materials. A craft instructor will help you create your holiday wishes. Please call to pre-register. Class size is limited to 20 participants.
