Senior Citizens Fitness Morning

A Unique S.C.E.N.T.
If you enjoy listening to live music then join us for Senior Citizens Entertainment Night every Tues. Each night will feature a style of music such as bluegrass, country/western, gospel and oldies. Basic Skills Review/GED Classes
Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) is offering tuition free Basic Skill Review classes in

Tang Soo Do Karate and Self Defense
Tang Soo Do is an art form that enhances awareness and well-being. The combat academy of Tang Soo Do offers demo teams, board breaking, sparring, tournaments and belt advancement. This family oriented class teaches self-defense, physical fitness and discipline is for beginner, intermediate and advanced martial arts students. Classes can begin anytime.

Healthy Helpers Cooking Class
If your kids enjoy cooking or helping out in the kitchen then bring them to the recreation center for a class they will enjoy. Kids will learn basic kitchen safety and make their own healthy dinner. No supplies needed, but space is limited so sign up early. Please call the center to pre-register or for more information. 6-14 yrs; 3rd Thurs. of each month; 6-7 pm; $10/class

Zumba
Zumba is a dance fitness program that fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness class. Burn calories and have fun doing it during the hour of heart racing, muscle pumping, and body energizing movements that will engage and captivate you.

Yvette's Dance Academy
In this upbeat and exciting class participants learn basic techniques and fundamentals of dance. This class also improves coordination, flexibility and endurance. Beginners and intermediate students are welcomed as they will learn ballet, tap, tumbling, hip hop, and jazz.

Walkie Talkies
If you are looking for a place to walk indoors then come to the recreation center. Join others that are already taking advantage of our walking program. Call the recreation center for updated days and times.

Tumbling Classes
Tumbling helps develop balance, strength, flexibility and coordination. In this class you'll learn movement
exploration, forward/backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, walkover, and much more!

Pilates/Sculpting
If you want to tone your body and strengthen your core, then this class is for you. This class focuses on abs, glutes, legs, back and even upper body through various exercises. All skill levels are welcomed.

Stedman vs. Eastover Community Kickball Competition
Let the rivalry begin! Teams from Stedman and Eastover will compete in a good ole' fashion game of kickball. Up for grabs are bragging rights and the Kickball Kup! We encourage you to gather your players and hurry to register for this family oriented event. Players on teams must consist of children and adults. Register as a team or as an individual and we can place you on a team. Prizes given for most creative team name!

Nothing tastes better than vegetables picked fresh from your own garden! Come learn important aspects of gardening and see what you can grow. We will be planting vegetables for you to take home and give you tips to keep your garden growing. Pre-register by May 6.

Cape Fear Regional Round-Up
Football Season is around the corner! These clinics are a great opportunity for kids to sharpen techniques with a focus on specifi c football positions. Each hour will be split into two sessions: one offensive and one defensive. Instruction provided by Cape Fear High School football coaches. Players wanting to attend must pre-register at any FCPR recreation center. Contact Eastover-Central (433-1226) or Stedman (433-1440) for more details.

First Aid
Have a cut or a scrape and mom or dad isn't around? Well then come out to this class and learn some basics on first aid so you can better take care of yourself or help someone in need. Call or come by to

Canoeing
Join us at Rhodes Pond as park rangers lead you on a canoe tour. No experience is necessary to participate in this paddling adventure, however, it is helpful. Canoes will be provided, but space is limited so call the recreation center to reserve your spot!

Rider Development Motocross Class
If you are interested in learning basic safety practices when it comes to dirt bikes, then this class is for you! We will be partnering with Hog Heaven Motocross Track to provide hands-on instruction regarding the proper techniques when riding a dirt bike. A practice bike will be provided if you do not own one; however, each participant will need a helmet. This class will be held at Hog Heaven Race Track located in Godwin.
