Open Gym
The gym is open nightly for basketball with the exception of recreation sponsored athletic programs.
Family Night: 12-under yrs; participants must be accompanied by an adult
Teens: 13-17 yrs; participants bring school or picture ID
Adults: 18+; $2 with a picture ID
Schedule varies according to availability, call center for current times.

Montibello Community Watch Meetings
Monthly community watch meetings are held for residents in the Montibello neighborhood. Meetings take place the last Tues. of each month.

Spring To It
Teens are you in need of volunteer hours to complete requirements for high school or college? Check by the recreation center for various opportunities. We offer opportunities that ensure you will receive knowledge about the recreation field and that you will gain valuable
experience.

Senior Cards
Come out to meet other seniors in the area, socialize, and enjoy some card playing. We will be offering various card games to include Spades, Pinochle, and much more! We will also be hosting tournaments! Registration begins Sept. 1st

Beginner I Middle Eastern BellyDance
For first time beginners - no experience necessary. Anyone can do this! Have fun and learn to bellydance! Yes, it's great fun and fitness and for Every Body! All the basics, steps and combinations and veils! Enjoy the music, and meet some other Beginners! Performance not required. Pre-registration
is required.

Intermediate/Advanced Middle Eastern Belly Dance
Continue to advance your skills as you learn more complex dances. Showcase your talents in various public performances. Pre-registration is required.

Tang Soo Do Karate
This family-oriented class teaches self-defense, physical fitness, and discipline. Tang Soo Do is an art form that enhances your awareness of being.

Beginning Piano Lessons
Learn the basic skills of reading music as well as applications of reading notes on both staffs. Class requirements: students must bring their own keyboard and purchase a Level I piano book.
6+; Fri.; 5:30-6:30 pm $32/4 weeks

Intermediate Piano Lessons
Students must already possess basic knowledge of how to read music on both staffs and an understanding of timing. Class requirements: students must bring their own keyboard and purchase a Level II piano book. 6+; Fri.; 6:30-7:30 pm; $32/4 weeks

Zumba Gold
This Zumba class is designed especially for those age 55 and up (although all participants ages 16 and up are invited). Zumba is a fun, low impact work-out that achieves great results!
16+; Mon.; 6-7 pm; $10/4 weeks

Voice Lessons
Ever wanted to sing like your favorite gospel artist? Maximize your vocal potential by learning how to use and protect your voice properly. Develop stage presence, microphone technique, stamina, range and sound.

Metal Strength Majorettes
Metal Strength Majorettes is a baton twirling program that strives to teach the proper technique form of twirling. Participants will learn poise, self-confidence and have fun! They will also have the opportunity to perform in parades, festivals, and special events.
2+; Mon.; 2:30-3:45 pm; Thurs.; 6-7:15 pm; $40/month

Art Classes
If your child enjoys or is interested in drawing, painting, sculpting and just being creative this is the perfect class for them! Registration begins Oct. 1. Class starts Oct. 15.
7-12 yrs.; Sat.; 10-11 am; fee varies depending on project type

Learn to Sign
Sign language is a great way to foster emerging speech and language skills in your child. This class is for all levels, from beginner to expert.  Registration begins Sept. 1.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Intercession Camps
Camps based around the year-round school schedule that feature games, crafts, sports and more. This program is designed for children who are currently enrolled in kindergarten through age 12. Campers should bring a non-perishable lunch to camp each day. Weeks offered are as follows: Sept. 19-23; Sept. 26-Sept. 30; Oct. 3-Oct. 7; Dec. 19-22 ($40); Dec. 27-30 ($40); Jan. 2-6 ($40)

Workday Camps
These camps are offered on teacher workdays (from the year-round school calendar). Program is designed for children who are currently enrolled in kindergarten through age 12. Campers should bring a non-perishable lunch to camp each day. Workday Camps are offered on the following days: Sept. 16, Oct. 10, Nov. 23, Jan. 9, Feb. 20

Preschool Party!
Parents of preschoolers can take the evening off and leave the little ones with us! We have designed a night just for this energetic age group that’s full of fun! Games, crafts, songs and stories with pizza included too! Participants should be potty-trained and be comfortable in group settings. Registration deadline is Oct. 17.
3-5 yrs; Fri., Oct. 21; 5:30-7:30 pm; $5

Snowflake Dance Party
This dance party is only for the littlest snowflakes! Bring your toddlers and preschoolers out for dancing, music, winter crafts, story time and refreshments! Parents are not required to stay but are always invited! Participants should be potty-trained. Registration deadline Nov. 28.
