Shoot hoops, play horse, or work on your free throws. Youth 7-17 years must have a current permission form on file that must be renewed annually. Current picture ID required for 13 yrs and up! Open gym is on going with exception to scheduled recreation center and athletic programs.

Kid Connection

Walking Track

Tumbling Toddlers

Tang Soo Do

Kobudo
Take your martial arts training to a higher level! This class teaches the use of traditional Okinawan martial arts weapons including the staff, the tunfa, nunte, eku, nunchaku and others. Uechi Ryu Karate Do
Uechi Ryu (pronounced: “Way Chee Roo”) is an Okinawan style of karate. The basic principle of Uechi Ryu is the use of soft and quick circular blocks that simply redirect an opponent’s attack followed by an equally quick and powerful response. Strong emphasis is placed on body conditioning and Sanchin training.

Sign to Soar
This course will help establish vocabulary, self-confidence and create higher IQ levels in children. Age appropriate activities will help create a fun communication bond for families with young children. Sign language skills will be built through songs, games, storytelling and social/emotional interaction. Course will enhance fine motor skill coordination in the young, mature and in-between! It also can assist hyperactive children gain self control. Gain all of this as well as learning a new language! Everyone is welcomed to sign and soar to new heights!

V’z Modeling Academy
Join V’z Academy where emphasis is placed on selfawareness and self-expression. The class offers an opportunity to walk a runway, social interaction, and community work. Yoga & Toning
Looking to tone the whole body? Try this yoga class which emphasizes muscle toning and lengthening. This class incorporates yoga postures & breathing, mat Pilates, and various muscle toning exercises. It is a feel good work out that will leave the body feeling strong and energized. Wear
clothes that are easy to stretch in. Participant must provide own yoga mat and water is suggested. *Optional to bring light hand weights (1-3 lbs or less), strap, and/or towel.

Creative Cooking
Does your child have a passion for cooking? Well, here’s an opportunity for them to learn the basic of it all. A cooking class just for kids where everything is prepared and cooked by kids for kids. Supplies are provided, but space is limited!

Sewing Youth and Adult
This class is designed to teach the basics of sewing. Each week students will learn the basics, do an activity, and make a project based on that week’s activity. Students will choose a final project to make for the fourth week! Students must provide their own sewing machine. Included:

Viola, Violin, Cello Lessons
Be exposed to different composers, learn note reading, and ear training techniques in a positive atmosphere! Performance Workshop
Students will choose one full-length play or series of one acts (with the guidance of the director) as a class project and then collaborate on all aspects of a production. Extensive work on telling the story, tracking a character and understanding the playwright's point of view will be explored. Students will also use the class as a rehearsal workshop culminating in a weekend of performances of the project at a local theater. This workshop is designed
for advanced actors who want to keep skills sharp and gain deeper experience in developing a character and creating a play. *Pre-requisite: Successful completion of 3 levels of acting or by audition.

TV Commercial Seminar
Everything you wanted to know about the TV commercial industry is included in this class. Photos, resumes, how and where to look for work, union vs. non-union jobs, agents, and casting directors are discussed. You will learn how to prepare for the commercial audition by working on camera

ShowBiz Seminar
This seminar will give you all the basic information you need to get started in Show-biz. Learn about agents, managers, unions, resumes and headshots, plus information on commercials, film, print and theatre. Discover how to spot scams that want you to invest large amounts of money
with no guarantees. Find out where the auditions are and what it takes to succeed. If you are interested in starting a career in show business or have a child with a passion for acting, singing or modeling, this seminar will be an invaluable aid in understanding the ins and outs of the industry.

Natural Hair Braiding/Hair Care – State Board Test Prep
As of July 2010, the state of North Carolina required that all professional hair-braiders obtain a license to practice or to continue practicing. This course is designed for experienced professional natural hair-braiders who have been practicing natural hair braiding for at least one year and who wish to prepare for the state board exam to become licensed. The instruction from this course will prepare those who wish to be “grandfathered” into the professional realm of hair braiding and to pass the NC state board exam. Note: Additional supplies will be required and you will receive more information at the first class.

Military Appreciation Dinner
We are happy to give back to our wonderful men and women of our armed services! Texas Roadhouse will be catering a free dinner for couples with at least one active member in the military or veteran. The menu includes your choice of a steak or chicken dinner with a side salad and a baked potato. There will also be a live band and free childcare! We will provide pizza, games, and a movie for the kids. Pre registration is required. Registration ends Oct. 28. Must show Military I.D. at registration.
