Westover Walking for Fitness
Come walk in a safe and comfortable environment. If you’re getting back on your feet after surgery or just wanting to stay in shape, the Westover Recreation Center is open for walkers to walk their way back to health.

Morning Senior Aerobics and Fitness
Westover Recreation Center offers a morning fitness class that incorporates stretching and low-impact aerobics. Novice and beginner adults who are not completely ready for advanced aerobics can use this class to increase flexibility, improve cardiovascular health, and strengthen
muscular durability. Active seniors or adult beginners who want a fitness program designed for them should consider attending this class.

Badminton Challenge
This program offers an opportunity for adults to improve their love of the badminton game, learn the art of the game, or just simply looking for a friendly competitive challenge.

Westover Area Seniors
Westover Area Seniors Group was designed to give senior adults a place to enjoy fellowship, fun, and social interaction. Activities include informational speakers, games, arts and crafts, and leisure activities.

Youth Intramurals
Come enjoy the challenge in sports, games and activities after school! You will be introduced to new games and some old favorites. Get a team together for flag football or enjoy a friendly game of dodgeball or kickball. Lots of fun and great exercise in a safe, organized environment!!!!

Youth Open Gym
Enjoy playing basketball? Then come to open gym and work on your basketball skills while improving your health and developing new friendships with others your age. High School students should be prepared to present picture identification. Gym shoes and clothes must be worn. Registration form must be filled out.

Adult Open Gym
Adult Open Gym is designed for adults wanting to improve their cardiovascular health by playing basketball. Participants should be prepared to present picture identification.

Cub Scouts & Boy Scouts
The Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts programs are for boys in first through twelfth grades. Scouts will participate in numerous service activities and earn scouting awards and badges for participation.

Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts provide young ladies with an accepting and nurturing environment where girls can build character and skills for success in the real world.

Swing Dance Class
This class is designed to teach a wide variety of dance styles and techniques to a new age sound. This program offers a night filled with exhilarating and enjoyable dance, giving participants the opportunity to meet new people in a safe and comfortable environment. Ru Ru’s Teen Dance Class
This youth dance program is designed to provide proper etiquette, leadership and social skills. These skills are learned through a variety of dance styles. We invite you to come out and join us for a night filled with fun and excitement. This is also a great opportunity for your child to

Teddy Bear Preschool Club
The Teddy Bear Club is a program that incorporates crafts projects, games and a daily snack. Children learn how to follow directions and socialize with their peers in a structured setting. Participants must be potty trained

Self-Defense
This 8 week program is an introduction to the martial art style of Tang Soo Do. Students will learn basic blocks, kicks, punches, and three basic forms. You will experience the benefit of better focus, increase confidence and self-esteem, and be in an environment of respect.

Project F.L.O.W. (Future Leaders of Westover)
Teenagers, are you looking for a positive group of your peers that share the same interest as you and want to give back to the community? We have the group for you! We are looking for boys and girls that want to make a mark in society and to further their chances of success in life by
making positive choices and having the leadership and knowledge to be the best in everything you want to achieve. Teens will discuss topics such as education, self esteem, peer pressure and work on life situations together. Begins Sept. 6.
11-18 yrs; 1st and 3rd Tues.; 6-7 pm

Community Marching Band
Westover Recreation Center is proud to introduce the “Carolina All-Star Elite” (C.A.S.E). This marching band’s style will be a high-stepping format focusing on musical development. Emphasis will be placed on mentoring of the youth organization while promoting excellence. A band
camp will be the official start. Dates and times for the camp will be announced. Weekly meetings will be held.

T.E.A.M. Academy (Teaching Excellence through Academics and Motivation)
A tutoring program based in the areas of Math, English and Science that will help to improve your child’s learning in education.

“The Half Notes”
Come sing, dance, perform and have fun! This class teaches singing, dancing, and performing arts skills. This class is a confidence builder that will allow your child to develop into a performer and will showcase their abilities by performing at public events. Space is limited. Practice days and times
are TBD.
3-18 yrs (age groups separated by grade level); $20/month

Destined For Success, Inc
DSI believes that five areas help make up the total man and are what will help our children become a positive benefit to society. DSI also believes that one positive role model can impact a child’s life so greatly that a change can occur within them, which will enable them to see that they truly are destined for success! Each DSI participant is paired with a volunteer mentor. The mentor’s purpose is to schedule monthly meetings with their mentee to ensure they are exceeding as a student as well as offer them more encouragement. Children are aware that failure is an option, however Destined for Success, Inc. wants them to realize that success is the better option. Begins Sept. 6.
