Carolina Tiger Rescue - Pittsboro, NC
The North Carolina Tiger Rescue, located in Pittsboro, is spread over 55 acres and includes 72 animals representing 6 different species. Trained tour guides will be escorting us throughout the facility, which allows visitors a more up-close visit than in traditional zoos. Note: this tour is

Camp Cheerio Transportation
Want to go to camp? We will be providing transportation to Camp Cheerio in Sparta, NC. All interested are responsible for making reservations and payments for camp. Bid Whist is a partnership trick-taking variant of the classic card game whist. As indicated by the name, bid whist adds a bidding element to the game that is not present in classic whist.

Silver Links Lab Computer Classes
The Senior Center offers Computer Classes as well as open lab times. Please contact the center for classes, days and times. Classes offered include Basic Computers and Internet/Email. Fayetteville-Cumberland Senior Center is also looking for great minds to volunteer their time to
instruct computer classes to seniors.
Generations-on-Line
Stop in the center to check out Generations-on-Line- an internet program geared toward beginner internet users. This digital internet inclusion program for seniors is fun, easy, self-satisfying and will have you surfing the net in no time! Dates and time vary-please contact the center for additional details!
Food & Fun Series
Who could ask for more - food and fun all bundled into one program! This program will run every other month and will feature a different restaurant and exhilarating activity. Participants are responsible for all costs involved for lunch and activity. Please contact staff for more details.

Matter of Balance -
"Life is a Balancing Act"
The fear of falling can be more dangerous than you think. It's not about what you can't do but rather, it's about what you can do to change your life. Come find out what this national program has offered hundreds of people across the country. During eight 2-hour classes, participants learn: to
view falls as controllable, set realistic goals for increasing activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors and promote exercise strength and balance. There will be problem-solving, skill building, exercise training, video tapes, group discussions, and practical solutions.

AARP – Driver Safety Program
This one day, four hour driving refresher classroom course helps drivers refine existing driving skills and develop safe, defensive driving techniques. Even though it is designed for drivers ages 50 and older, it is open to all motorists. Registration: Nov. 1-30

Dial-A-Friend
Are you or someone you know in need of a reassuring telephone call? Our volunteers will contact you twice a week to make sure you are doing okay. This project will begin in September. We are also looking for those interested in being callers. Please contact the center for further information.
Printer Cartridge Recycling
Do you have empty printer cartridge that you have been meaning to recycle? Well, next time you come down to the center, bring them with you and S.O.S will recycle them.
Paws & Jaws – Food Drive, September 2011
We are collecting food for those of both the two-legged and four-legged type. Drop off your food donations at the Senior Center. Second Harvest Food Bank & the Cumberland County’s Animal Haven will receive donations.
